About the Company: Join a leading investment funds division within a major Renewable energy group. As the business continues to expand, a new opportunity has arisen for a dedicated Tax Manager to support one of the largest and most significant portfolio companies. Role Overview: This is a unique, newly created position for a Tax Manager to lead the tax function for a major portfolio company within the group. The role will involve establishing and overseeing the tax operating model, ensuring compliance, and providing tax advisory across direct, indirect, and international tax matters. You will act as the primary tax point of contact for the platform, reporting directly to the CEO of the portfolio company with a dotted line to the Head of Tax (Funds) at group level. As the business evolves, there is scope to grow the remit and potentially build out a tax team.  There is no Funds Tax within this role. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead day-to-day tax accounting, compliance, and reporting for the portfolio company

  • Establish and maintain a robust tax operating model in line with group and FCA requirements

  • Provide tax advisory support on a broad range of matters, including M&A, transactions, and ongoing business activities

  • Liaise with local platform teams and act as the first point of contact for tax matters

  • Monitor changes in tax legislation and ensure continued compliance across all relevant jurisdictions

  • Support future growth initiatives, with potential to expand oversight to additional portfolio companies and/or build a team

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • ACA/CTA/ACCA qualified (or equivalent), with 4-5 years PQE

  • Strong background in tax accounting and compliance; practice or in-house backgrounds both considered

  • Experience in infrastructure, energy, real estate, or related sectors preferred

  • Demonstrated experience in direct, indirect, and international tax

  • Commercially minded, proactive, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment

  • Strong communication skills and ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels
